Choral Room
CONCERT CHOIR
The Concert Choir is comprised of students from grades 9-12 who take choir during
period three. Some students have choir five days a week and receive a full credit for
participation in the choir. Other students take choir three days a week and receive a
half credit for their participation in the choir.
The Concert Choir performs at various concerts throughout the school year. During
this year, the Concert Choir has performed in settings ranging from the Annual Pep Rally
to the CACTC Fashion Show.
Members of the Concert Choir have performed on two European Tours. These tours have
taken place in 1999 and 2001.
The Chamber Choir is comprised of students from grades 9-12 who have auditioned
for this group. The Chamber Choir rehearses from 6:45-7:30am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
These students receive one half credit for their participation in the
Chamber Choir. The Chamber Choir has recently performed at the Hartt School of Music,
University of Hartford and for the dedication of the recent addition to Cranston West.
While on tour, several members of the Chamber Choir have performed in Italy.
In 1999, performances were given in Rome, Florence, Assisi and Venice. In 2001,
performances were given in Rome, Palestrina, Sorrento and Roccella Ionica.
Check out our performance at the church of Santa Maria del Popolo in Rome
located on our Home Page. This church is of particular importance because it
houses the famous painting by Carravagio entitled "The Crucifixion of Saint Peter".
This performance was sponsored by the Akkademia dei Prossimali of Rome.

Ashley is a senior at Cranston High School West. She has been a member of both
the Chamber and Concert Choirs for the past four years. She has been on two European
tours. Ashley will be attending Rhode Island College in the fall. |
