Dear
Families,
Happy New School Year! It is so exciting to be beginning a new
school year with you all! We have many
things continuing from last year that will be great fun and wonderful progress
for all of your youngsters. One major
project I want to update you all on is the Positive Behavior Intervention
Supports system in place. You will
notice dolphins everywhere and ways for your children to be certain of what is
expected of them. Not only will they have posters and discussions to guide them
but we will also be continually pointing out those who are following those
guidelines to celebrate successes as students reacclimate
to their school day and progress throughout the year. When I arrived at Dutemple
last fall I recognized the sweet and kind atmosphere you all have built and we
want to display this and celebrate that prominently every day. You may have noticed that the school year
came to completion, the children went home to play and your dedicated staff
arrived again to school for two days.
This was devoted completely to continuing to construct this PBIS
programming. I am so grateful and proud
of the work that was done. August will
bring on similar time devotion so that when we see you all we will have many
new aspects to use together. Be
respectful, be responsible, be ready are our themes for our growth in this
initiative.
Thank
you,
Ms. Basile

7:00-8:00 p.m.
Parents and guardians, please join us for an evening
hearing a bit more about PBIS and especially to meet and hear what your
youngsters will be doing this year with their new teachers!
School starts on August 31, 2010
Kindergarten
students and parents may go directly down to the kindergarten room where Mrs.
Ferns will meet you and the PTO has arranged the opportunity for you to get to
know each other over a cup of coffee.
All
other children will line up in the back school yard starting at 8:40 on the
line where their room number is located.
Teachers are on duty at that time.
If it rains please come in to line up in the
multipurpose room. Classroom
teachers will meet their lines to bring them to class on this first day. Students will be dismissed to this back
school yard at 3:00.
As
the year progresses please keep in mind that students should not arrive prior
to adult supervisory times. If
youngsters need breakfast that begins at 8:30.
Students are marked late if they arrive after 9:00.
