Room
15 is a fun–filled, exciting place where children learn and grow. It is a
language-based classroom with a focus on early learning skills in literacy,
mathematics and writing. We work on listening and speaking skills throughout
the curriculum.
Most
of our learning takes place through poems, songs and stories. We explore math and science concepts through
hands on experiences.
The children learn social conversation skills while having fun building with blocks, creating puppet shows, and acting in the dramatic play area.
Fine motor skills are addressed with art projects, play dough and bead work. We often join the Kindergarten class for recess to improve gross motor skills and socialization skills.
Some
themes that we explore through the year are Fairy tales, Nursery Rhymes,
Animals (farm, pond, polar, & ocean), Living Things (plants, bugs &
butterflies) and Transportation. Field
trips are often a joint venture with our Kindergarten friends.
