Gladstone Street School has the only ESL-Kindergarten in the city of Cranston. There are currently twenty-two children in each session - AM and PM. Our families are from many countries: Bolivia, Cambodia, China, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Haiti, Laos, Mexico, Philippines, Portugal, Puerto Rico, and Syria.

The ESL-Kindergarten follows the K-curriculum established by the Cranston School Department, plus we include English Language Development -- listening, speaking. and understanding -- daily.

Some of our students will go on to our ESL first grade; some are mainstreamed into a regular first grade where additional help is provided as needed by our ESL resource teachers. Others return to their home schools where, in many cases, ESL resource help is available as necessary.
