Dear Parent & Students of Orchard Farms:

Open House at Orchard Farms will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, from 6:30 - 8:30. This time change is made necessary by a change in format for our Open House evening. Frequently, having more than one child in the school has been an issue. Also our 5th and 6th grades operate on a mini-middle school model. To allow parents to have opportunity to visit with multiple teachers, we will split the Open House format into two parts. Grades K-4 parents will meet with their teachers 6:30 to 7:00 and a grades 5 & 6 will meet from 7:30 - 8:30.   The K-4 segment will be split into two portions: 6:30 - 6:45 and 6:45 - 7:00. This arrangement will allow parents to visit with two teachers during this part of our Open House. From 7:00 to 7:30 all parents are invited into the cafetorium for the introduction of staff and to talk about our school.   At 7:30 the second half of our Open house will begin by having the 5th and 6th grade parents move to their child`s home/language arts room. To allow parents to meet with all of the teachers your child has throughout the day, we will sound a tone so that you may move from class to class.   The entire Open House schedule is as follows:   Grades K-4   6:30 - 7:00 in two segments 6:30 - 6:45 and 6:45 - 7:00 Special Education & Support Staff Available During This Segment   7:00 - 7:30 All parents in cafetorium.   Grades 5 & 6   7:30 - 8:30 in four segments:   7:30 - 7:45 Homeroom (Pick up schedule) 7:45 - 8:00 Segment 2 8:00 - 8:15 Segment 3 8:15 - 8:30 Segment 4   I look forward to meeting all of you at Open House.       Dennis Charpentier                     Principal
