English Language Arts

The main goal of the ELA curriculum is to make students effective communicators. Communication is the key to unlock the vault of success. Under this umbrella of communication, several areas are addressed. They include:

Literature:  short stories, novels, poetry
Writing: descriptive, narrative, expository, persuasive
Grammar
Vocabulary
Speaking, Listening, Viewing: presentations

Writing is incorporated into all disciplines.  The acronym R.A.I.S.E. is followed in all subject areas.  R.A.I.S.E. stands for: Restate, Answer, Include Supporting details, and Extend.
