World Language Mission Statement
The mission of the Cranston World Language Educator is to provide his/her students with the knowledge that language and communication are at the heart of the human experience. Cranston Public Schools will educate students to interact linguistically and culturally in a pluralistic American society and abroad. We envision that ALL students will develop and maintain proficiency in English and at least one other world language.
World Language Vision Statement
Cranston Public School will graduate a student who understands and uses world languages as a means to:
-gain an understanding of his/her own culture and of other peoples and cultures
-connect to other disciplines and acquire new information and knowledge
-use language to participate in local and global communities
-communicate in other world languages in addition to English
The knowledge, skills and values developed from the study of a world language will enable every student to become a lifelong learner, a cooperative worker, as well as a responsible and active member of society who is sensitive to diversity.
