The mission of Western Hills Middle School, a safe, inclusive, and personalized learning community, is to provide a coherent, rigorous curriculum in a manner that ensures success for every student through best teaching practices, and varied learning opportunities and supports, in order to develop in students a love for learning, the capacity to apply knowledge to solve problems, a respect for diversity, and an understanding of the importance of community and personal responsibility..

DUE TO THE HIGH TEMPERATURES PREDICTED FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING;

STUDENTS MAY WEAR SLEEVELESS TOPS AND APPROPRIATE LENGTH SHORTS

STUDENTS MAY HAVE WATER WITH THEM THROUGHOUT THE DAY

STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR THE FOLLOWING TO SCHOOL THIS WEEK:

NO MUSCLE SHIRTS, TANK TOPS OR TOPS WITH SPAGHETTI STRAPS

NO TORN CLOTHING

NO SHORT SHORTS

NO BARE MIDRIFFS

NO FLIP FLOPS

I AM ENCOURAGING ALL PARENTS TO CHECK THEIR CHILDREN FOR TICKS.

IT IS A VERY HIGH SEASON FOR TICK INFESTATION.

PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR PETS SLEEP WITH YOUR CHILDREN AS THEY FREQUENTLY CARRY IN THE TICKS EVEN IF THEY ARE HOUSE BOUND, ALWAYS DISPOSE OF TICKS BY BURNING OR FLUSHING,

TICKS MUST BE REMOVED CAREFULLY S0 THAT THE HEAD DOES NOT BREAK OFF IN THE SKIN. CALL YOUR PHYSICIAN IF YOU FIND A TICK ON YOU CHILD FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.
