Social Studies: Quarter 1 - Canada & US
Quarter 2 - Medieval History
Quarter 3 - Medieval History
Quarter 4 - Latin America
English: The students will study a variety of genres
including short stories, novels,
plays/drama, poetry, writing.
Science: Topics covered: Science Foundations,
animals, human biology and environment.
Math: Apply previously learned skills and
concepts. Cover operations, problem
solving, irrational numbers, percents,
integers, perfect squares, square roots
and exponents.
Grading Percentage:
English: Tests/Projects 50%
Quizzes 30%
HW 10%
Participation 10%
Science: Tests/Quizzes 50%

Math: Tests/Quizzes 80%
Homework Information:
Social Studies: HW is given 3-4 times per week. If HW is
late, partial credit will be given if
turned in the next day.
English: HW is assigned as needed to reinforce the
daily lessons.
Science: HW is generally given 3-4 times per week.
HW receives a check plus, check minus, or
zero. See HW rubric.
Math: HW is given approximately 4 times per week.
It should be done in notebooks and work
must be shown on all problems.
Extra Help:
Social Studies: Help is available in the morning from 7:30
to 8:00 and at the end of the day from
2:30 to 3:00. Also enrichment, Wed. per 1.
English: As needed and arranged with teacher at
least one day in advance. Wed. per. 1.
Science: Arrange with teacher. Wed. per. 1.
Math: Any day after school except Monday and
Wed. per. 1.

area and perimeter and exploring
probability.
